i
know
what
i
saw
.
the
moon
was
only
half
full
.
but
when
i
asked
my
expensive
third
eye
to
back
me
up
,
the
lens
had
other
ideas
.
the
autofocus
wouldn't
function.
and
no
matter
how
much
time
i
spent
turning
the
ring
that
lets
me
sharpen
and
blur
at
will
,
what
looked
like
a
ghostly
fingernail
clipping
when
it
was
cradled
by
sky
appeared
on
the
camera's hinged
screen
as
a
perfect
sphere —
a
single
white
circle
of
light
in
a
sea
of
black
,
beautiful
enough
to
blot
out
any
need
for
explanation.
