drifted
raze my piano drifts just like you'd expect a stringed thing to. changes in humidity chip away at the pitch in almost imperceptible ways, though the built-in climate control system does what it can to mitigate the damage. it wasn't always such a subtle thing. a week or two after being tuned for the first time, the upright already sounded like it was on its last legs. i loved the blur and slur of its shifting voice. i recorded it as much as i could when it was in that state, not knowing how narrow my window of opportunity was, for the instrument would never again sound so ancient as it did when it was new. 250317
