"Y'a une phoque," we sang with gusto. It was high school at FACE, and the song was about a seal, and the fun was that it sounded almost like the English "fuck." Not exactly, but pretty close. The main vowel is somewhere between the English short "o" and short "u", the way "poste" in French sounds a little like "pust" if "pust" were a word - if it were, it would mean a wall blemish that looks like a skin infection. But yes. There's also a soft schwa at the end - f[o/u]-kə - if you want to be fancy.
