andru235 why should there be a hello? (i'm talking the greet-ative hello here, cause it's the only one i know of)

they say that if you don't feel like greeting via "aloha", you go to hello, and suffer a conversation, blah

but why?
WHY?
what's the point of greeting people non-hawaiianly? what good does it do? even, say, Hi-ler or the "worst guy ever"... why would you want them to be greeted in such a fashion?
I remember hearing "that's the way it is... either you're with conventional greeting tactics or you're not, dude!"

casual introductions seem really, really sadistic

thought that greeting was something you do to make someone respond, and not just walk away from you.
to make them stop causing charm to others, and charm you instead.
