Think for yourself, question authority. Throughout human history, as our species has faced the frightening, terrorizing fact that we do not know who we are, or where we are going in this ocean of chaos, it has been the authorities, the political, the religious, the educational authorities who attempted to comfort us by giving us order, rules, regulations, informing, forming in our minds their view of reality. To think for yourself you must question authority.

because freedom_isn't_free and if you haven't found freedom in yourself it cannot be given unto you. though it can, be taken piece_by_piece until you take it back in peace. the wise neither accept nor reject that which they do not understand.

one assumes an authoritative stance when telling someone they should do something, even if it's to think for themselves, even if it's not the intention. i'm just giving you a hard time. i don't need anyone to tell me to think for myself; i've been doing it since i can remember.

Because in order to find yourself you have to doubt what you have been told. In order to discover the why behind your actions and the actions of those around you, you have to have a critical mind. You have to ask questions. You have to discover your own answers.

question why you question. and question your answers. you may want to look up plato's socratic dialogues on matters of authority and questions. some valid points made there.

so do you question why you question your questions? Do you question why you question your answers? The way I see it, there are always deeper and deeper levels of truth brought on by deeper and deeper questions. There isn't a limit and one can go on questioning forever. I think it really comes down to whether an answer suffices for you as an individual.
