hsg and third parties can manipulate the sending/receiving times such that false impressions are given to the original subjects. its not just the words we use to communicate but the mannerisms which can say a lot. it is much harder to compromise an authentic vocal conversation. i don't but it that text messages are more secure. secure for whom? towards what ends? more easy to control, counterfeit perhaps.

can you fake a persons smell? yes, i suppose even that. but do all the pieces add up in the right proportions? because something doesnt feel right.

hsg edit: replace "i dont but it" with "i dont buy it"

In-Bloom How sick is the electric surge that goes through me in the night when I hear the chime and soft blue light calls to me? 080912

past It'd be easier just to call, but everyone in this town is long distance. Not that that's much of an excuse. I think they just roll on the texts more here.

Alternatively, the calls were nice.

testing If i had a million bucks i would:

make a room full of keyboards and drum machines and play in the bliss in the darkens of the darkness and the fog would pour from the manufactured smoke machine and as i looked out on the terrace of my house overlooking the sea and the fog would drift across the shore.

I would be a detective flying in my volvo flyer acrosss the fog and would investigate strange places in the fog world perhaps come across dynosaurs.

I would discover a whole planet filled with fog and with all of the colours of the jupiter gasses i would see each season would change fog colour and of course that october would have orange fog for october salooon.

Also on this planet there would be thousands of apes and lemurs and orangatangs. But you would have to bring electric shockers with you when you went outside since the some of the other monkey groups would be physically stronger than you. also on this planet would be a bunch of dogs in the fog running along the beaches drinking salt water.

I dream that erick freisen would rise from the dead and i could have all of my favorite celebrities and family and friends at a big huge fog world fest with 4 moons and endless stars, then i would blast off into the 2001 ride where there would be nothing but sounds and colours that would blow your mind to await the next journey. The next journey would consist of sliming your way thru weird space goo and biting thru hot coals until you fall into a pool of dreams and peace that sweeps you away andd transforms you into ancient space dust where you travel unknowingly into the next world after world until your conciousness arises and turns into form again.

misstree I prefer texting to talking. It's easier to keep someone close, to throw them the occasional aside as you progress throughout the day. A phone conversation is supposed to have a purpose, more than a single sentence. A ringing phone has an immediacy, an insistence, that the polite chime of a text fails to impose.

Preference between these modes (especially if email is included) seems to be the new great_divide, another way for Us and Them to define themselves... or to cover both halves of a coin, possibly learn about others (who's_your_favorite_beatle), depending on whether things are empty or full.

I've always disliked phone conversations. This new mode is full of fullness, for me.
