tragedy
amy when you don't watch the news, small ones are not big deals. it seems like people's concept of earthboundedness is glamorized by tragedies. it's sick, i think.

have you heard yet? life could be better.

I wasn't around a tv or a computer when the spaceshuttle disintigrated and no one was really talking about it so when someone mentioned it i felt like i missed it. sigh.

belly fire I can't help it
at night I dream of tragedies that could tear me
kicking and screaming
from life
they aren't wishes, exactly
just contingency plans
kinda like the fire extinguisher mom kept under the cupboard and never used
it dried up from misuse
but still, we knew it was there

belly fire Another tragedy on the clock,
But this one hits a little close to home.
We gather, as a family might,
and provide comfort.
One rushes, in the early morning hours,
to be beside the other when it finally happens.
News comes out over the airwaves that one was lost, and the rituals begin.
We are a family, really.
And we gather to provide comfort.
