Risen Blather is where I come to think.

Where I tease out my thoughts like threads, and stitch them together. Do my best to organise them.

I like to put things in catagories. To sort them into piles. To catalogue. To define. The sense of order and method appeals to me.

But thoughts and emotions are by their very definition undefined and mailable, constantly changing, morphing into other things.

To get by without definitions was a challenge I failed. I wanted something to make sense of it all. I am an academic.

Yet these are my private thoughts. Public, yes, but if someone wants insights into my head, they should not expect them to all be what they want to hear. Or judge me by them.

My thoughts do not bind others. They do not describe the sum total of what I am, or how I feel. They are trains of thought. Blather is a web of associations, trains of thought we rarely even know we have ourselves.

Blather is thoughts, not deeds, not words. It is where we pour out the innermost thoughts that we cannot voice elsewhere.

I will not be ashamed of my thoughts.
