Relly Sheed tying the knot
and retying and retying
taking care to be sure
it's not so tight it strangles
not so loose it unties itself
and secret it's supposed to be secret
but we all know
and applaud just the same
second time around

blue star give ireland back to the irish
don't make them have to take it away
give ireland back to the irish
make ireland irish today

great britain, you are tremendous
and nobody knows like me
but really what are we doing
in a land across the sea?

tell me how would you like it
if on your way to work
you were stopped by irish soldiers
would you lie down, do nothing?
would you give it something something

give ireland....

great britain and all the people
say that people must be free
and meanwhile back in ireland
there's a man who looks like me
and he dreams of god and country
and he's feeling really bad
and he's sitting in a prison
should he lie down, do nothing
should he give it somethin somethin

give ireland back to the irish
don't make them have to take it away
give ireland back to the irish
make ireland irish today

(Sorry... I don't know those words... I know it kinda takes away from it but I really like the song... for obvious reasons...)

amy - kid groupie his 2005 album was quite a solace to me, even if he seems to be fabricating the extreme loneliness and suffering a little from ego inflation. the album made me feel just a little more welcome in the world, although I didn't exactly feel connected to reality, persay, I did start to feel welcome again. it's the schizostuff that boots me out. I think of him as some sort of child or family psychologist. sometimes he writes too-sad songs, like Yesterday and Eleanor Rigby, but most of the time he hits just the right twinge of sorrow and hope. i would say he's a sympathy guy. 080513
