norwegian_sweaters
globalfruitbat I work in an Irish store. Everyday, I get asked "Do you have to be Irish to work here?" "are YOU from ireland?" "What part of Ireland are you from?" (b/c my BC accent sounds SOOO Irish..) and everyone who asks theses questions and variations thereof thinks that they are the first person EVER to have thought of SUCH a HILARIOUS joke.
But what really drives me up the wall ("are these prices in real dollars, like US dollars" aside, grrr...) is when people see the Dale of Norway sweaters, turn to me accusingly and say "THOSE don't look Irish!" and when I explain that they are, infact Norwegian, they get all confused/offended. usually the same people whoa re pissed off that we don't carry scottish tartan, or welsh rugby jerseys, or what have you.

ANYway. just ranting. And if you come to my store, please remember: The onyl who is in charge of the buying/ordering is the woman who ACTUALLY has the irish accent. The rest of us just work there.
And my background is Polish, and my red hair is via Clairol, not Galway.
Thank you.
