j_blue among fast_food

in california, even small towns have several (at least where i am from)

food is only bad if you eat it too much though

i used to think fat people were fat just because

when i lost weight my mind changed

then i knew people were fat because they ate too much food

and whose fault is that?

daxle american culture, created for profit by a select few (in terms of how large our population is)
ultimately everyone is responsible for what they do, but if it were so easy to ignore the pervading mass media messages, to see thru the lies, wouldn't everyone do it?

Sintina Did you know one in like every 5 people working in America today once worked at a McDonald's?

My mom is one of them. I'm not.

Strideo Ah McDonald's! Purveyors of not that bad but not really all that good food that isn't any good for you.

My advice is not to eat there.

Strideo Their french fries are their strongest point! You must resist! Don't give in!

misstree it is that which sustains our meat.

if you're putting crap into your body, you're going to feel like crap. lemonade may be cheaper to run your car on, but it won't go terribly far. you don't need to use jet fuel, but being aware, trying to keep a balance between nutrition and impulse, well. and the fact that the two can overlap in many places makes it much easier.

mickey dee's and its ilk are fine for the occasional splurge, say once a month or even once a week, but every god damned day, you'll rot your guts and feel like hell while it happens.

and while quantity of food taken in is a contributing factor to obesity, so are many other things regarding out eating habits... better to have two hamburgers at lunch than one before bed, swap mustard for mayonnaise, go for a walk instead of flopping in front of the tele to digest. all of these things will shed pounds without need to be hungry all the time (though eating for entertainment rather than fuel is another fattening habit) and without need to eliminate everything we enjoy (seriously, i loves me some brown mustard, and i do still use mayo, though i try for a film rather than a slather).

what bothers me the worst about mc d's, though, is their politics. they're a lovely example of a corporation that doesn't give two shits about indivdual humans, merely a bottom line. here in cascadia, there's the local equivalent Burgerville, which uses local products whenever possible, which in my neverever humble opinoin, is one of the basic building blocks to a strong regional economy, which in turn benefits me right back. plus, they're superdoubleplusyummy.
