m137
m137 Mount, Telescope: M137 is used to support the indirect fire Telescope, Panoramic: M115 on Gun, Field Artillery, Self-Propelled: 175mm, M107, and Howitzer, Heavy, Self-Propelled: 8 inch, M110. It incorporates the mechanisms and controls necessary for instrument elevation for cant (cross-level) correction. A mechanical 4-digit decimal counter is used for registering elevation in place of the elevation scale and micrometer used on previous telescope mounts. The correction knob allows correction factors to be incorporated into the elevation counter readings without changing the actual position of the telescope mount. The built-in instrument lighting system derives power from the vehicle's 24-volt system.
