dipperwell If it were harder for intelligent people to find love than ordinary or unintelligent people. Because intelligent people are a smaller percentile and couples often have similar intelligences. So there are fewer intelligent people out there to find. It's not about the emotional hangups of intelligent people, it's just mathematics in the end. Except that intelligence causes a host of other fractures. Very smart people have humours less easily satiated, because they sometimes find wit and subtlety more clever than slapstick or one-liners, the latter being infinitely more common. Their view of life is often more complex, and so their emotions - while experiencing the same ones as everyone else - may have darker or more inscrutable motivations. They require an intellectual challenge to stay afloat; explaining endlessly will wear them out. Soon they will revert to learning. This is not by any means to suggest the superiority, elitism or exoticism of intelligent people, as many are manipulative assholes and use their brains to hurt others or satisfy their own greedy urges. But it would make good theoretical sense of intelligent people, like the disabled, had a harder time in love. 050913
