stork daddy well what are your thoughts on the criminal justice system? is it just?

hmm...well i suppose i feel that society should be allowed to determine how to punish those who violate the social code. society offers it's protection to you, and as part of the social contract should be allowed to decide what to do with defectors. i don't think, however, that our treatment of criminals is particularly humane or just from a more intellectual perspective.

unhinged as liberal as i am, my view of criminals is very conservative. straight out of the old testament, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. the criminal element of society is like a three year old. you don't ask a three year old what they would like, you tell them what they are going to get. really horrible criminal indiscretions deserve to be matched with an equally horrible punishment. pain is a great motivator. capital punishment doesn't bother me at all as long as the verdict is 100% accurate. which is the problem i suppose; often times it isn't and innocent people have been known to die.

i've been accused of irrelevancy. but if you lived inside my brain you would realize how relevant it really was.
