innerviews_everdumbening_
frAnk one of the ski instructors with our school at seven springs knows one of the directors of burning man. perhaps you know her, or about her. and most likely, seen her. for once you do, you will never forget her.

her name is phatman dee. her head is shaved down to two pony tails coming out the side, not unlike dog ears. her eyes are usually made up like cleopatra. dennis and i first met her when she was riding a homemade scooter/skateboard contraption powered by a weedwacker engine. her hair/dog-ears were straight out like a sail.

i kid you not.

she was married on carson street with the public invited, in the southside of pittsburgh, a culturally diverse center that spawns artists and the like. her wedding ceremony began with a parade and she led the procession, riding an elaborately made wooden elephant, festooned with extravagant decorations.

anyway, it seems she made a recent appearance on judge joe brown because her elephant was taken to burning man 2002 and was burned without her consent and she sued for damages.

she won, some three large!

ring any bells for you?

by the way, thanks for your intimate review on this last year's festival in the desert, as always it put me on the playa in the spirit where i hope to be in the flesh someday. thanks also for the fotos of your seaglass fish.
it is spectacular.

and also, you are not only aquaman, but you are blatherblueman, continuously providing an example of fascinating verse and eruditical inspiration.

and one more question, totally unrelated to burningman...

i'm skiing rossignol GS7, 198 cm. i know it's old school, but i do like speed, but everyone seems to be skiing much shorter. is it for turning diversity and quick movement in the moguls or what? why? how come?

vielen dank.

i didn't recognize ms dee's name, so i had to surf. she sure fits the mold, though. i've seen plenty like her in the desert. she looks full-time; i consider myself more of a part-time freak, but the stats are in a continuous state of flux. it's the fixative fuckin with my brain, or is it the acetylene? goddamned artists.

robin_hill on the playa--THAT'S what i'm talkin bout. desert, slopes, wherever.

we're finally getting a bit o' pow here. tomorrow's my first day in like a freakin month. i don't recognize your skis and couldn't find em on the web. nevertheless, my instructors at the ski week i did in taos in '01 were skiing all sorts of different stuff, but a lot of their gear was _really_ short. these are all cats who used to race and the like. i have to say i don't know all the physics of it, but my guess is that because shaped skis are so easy to crank up on edge, the energy is more effectively translated (i.e. less work, less ski, same speed). pure speculation. and they definitely pop through the bumps. i'm riding head supercross ti's, 190's--great sticks. could've gone shorter in retrospect. maybe with shittier boards stability becomes an issue with shorter lengths, who knows? hell, you only have, what, like 800 vert at 7eleven anyway--strap on some flatbeds and let fly.

i thought you were knuckle-draggin with fishenheimer anyway. what gives? you two timin it?

frAnk sometimes you feel like a nut. what can i say? definately two-timing.

the fishboy only rides.

we're planning on helping greta make a documentary on the upcoming freestyle competition with her sony digital 8 and i-movie. highlighting riders, doing bios, letting them choose their music. she's going to film school and wants to add to her video-portfolio.

have fun in the powder.
