immediate_reward
Twitch I've been diagnosed with ADD, and I'm starting to believe that this "chemical imbalance" may be my need for an immediate reward. Even if I try to study I can't manage to stay on task unless I find the subject interesting. When I manage to find something that captures my interest, however, I feel as though I'm "hyper_focused." In this case, quenching my own interest is the immediate reward. Perhaps those with ADD just don't have the patience to bother with tasks that don't have some instantaneous recompense. This isn't to say that it isn't a chemical imbalance. Most of the medications out there work by increasing dopamine levels (a neurotransmitter that, among other things, plays a powerful role in motivation.) 061018
