just another cig quitter ingredients:

1 chest infection/URTI, which leads to having breathlessness and a cough so severe you can't actually smoke, even when you try your damnedest,

preferably this will last for up to a week.........when you can't smoke and your mind is distracted with the irritation and pain of illness, cravings become little more than the idea, or the thought of having a cigarette. Your lungs complain even at the thought of it, making it sort of a form of conditioning.

After a week, chest is beginning to get a bit better, perhaps you could sneak a cig. But you've had a week without them - your lungs feel clearer already as you take deep breaths of the outdoor air. No longer that restricted feeling when you breathe, that you hardly or never notice ordinarily because you're so used to filling your lungs with smoke.

You've managed a week without getting cravings, or the first few days may have been tough, it varies from person to person. What an achievement, but all pretty much out of your control. And this is where the decision comes in; you may be well enough to try and attempt a few drags, even finish the whole cigarette.

If you choose to go back down that path of smoking, then that is your own choice. Nothing I say will prevent that, and it is your own life. But if you choose the path of the non-smoker this time, then you know that you've already done a week, you aren't going cold turkey like people who decide to give up one day and then inevitably find their minds being drawn back to the idea of having a fag.

you've already had a successful week, but now the psychological element comes back in. you start to think of when you have a cig, the daily routine, whether you have one with a brew as you get up, or if you light up on your way to work, or even just when you're on a break. Now comes the challenge of finding an alternative to this. Everyone has their own ideas on how to tackle this, some falling off the bandwagon and back onto cigs, some people using other methods - substitutes, like one guy i met who told me he traded cigs for mars bars. He said he wouldn't recommend this method.....he put on 2 stone in a month.

Whatever it is you do, good luck. From there, there are many possibilities to how this effort will turn out.

I Used To Smoke Camel Regulars So I Could Field Strip The Butts. No Reason To Trash The Enviorment While I Wrecked My Lungs.
I Would Smoke With Impunity Untill I Found Myself Counting The Cigarettes Left In The Pack To Make Sure I Had Some In The Morning As Soon As I Woke Up. Then I Would Quit, Usually By Chain Smoking At Least Enough Of The Things To Queaze My Stomach Up Good, That Way When I Started To Crave Em'
I Could Just Think Back To How GOOD That Last One Had Been.
It Was All A Matter Of Will Power With Me. I Wasn't Willing To Let ANY Substance Dictate Terms To Me.
I'd Try Almost Anything, But If It Started To Run The Show I'd Drop It.
Some Things Required Quitting Everything Similar To Gain Back Control, But Cigarettes Are A Piece Of Cake.
The One Thing That I Do Miss About Not Smoking Is The Subsequent Loss Of The Ability To Make Fire On Demand. I Quit Carrying Matches and Lighters As A Result. I Periodicaly Regret THAT Aspect
