It was late one friday night turned saturday morning. I was depressed, loney, having a moment of self pity, and thankful no one else could see me in that state. I began typing random senteces into Google. The first few led me to a few good depressing short stories and some porn sites set to ensnare loney men online and have them "beat" their worries away. I think I typed in "sleeping with her head on my chest" and the forth result (two sites for anal sex were listed ahead of this one) led me here. I read a few posts and found what I had been searching for. I read until about 4am and afterwards felt much better. After reading many of the posts, I'm suspicious that the majority is written by Brits. just an observation.

I know I found it by going to a search engine, although I forget exactly what I searched for...
I know it was a day at school, and for certain reasons I was stuck at school with nothing to do. I did have access to a computer and the internet, so I went ahead and went to my favorite search engine (I forget if it was Google or Infoseek) and typed in some random words.
Although I forgot what I searched for, I know it was either one of these terms, or it was related to one of these terms:

Whatever the case, it lead me here. For a while. After some time, I blathered using different names every time. Then, I went out of my blather phase and I forgot all about this place for many years.
Now, I've rediscovered it, and I'm glad I did. I forget exactly how I rediscovered it... it might have been though the stumble upon toolbar, or it may have been a search for dreams on Google... I'm not sure. But when I saw the website for the second time, I knew exactly what I saw. Something awesome, that was lost, but I now found again.

typed into google "long-haired guys with leather pants" fourteen years ago, because i was going through an "i want to be jim morrison and/or iggy pop" phase. i wasn't at all prepared for what i found.
back then there was a lot less noise on the internet, and i think a lot of what was there for the finding was more interesting than it is now, or at least the relative paucity of things to be found made it seem that way. can't remember what blathe my search led me to. i do know i started blathing the same day, even before i had anything to say.
in a lot of ways i don't like what the internet has become. it's a little loud for my taste. too much spewing and not enough doing. too much talking at and not enough talking to. i miss the way it used to almost be a bit of a ghost town, with things that felt untouched, undiscovered, underground, not yet fully formed. but i'm weird that way.
this is the one place that still feels old and ghostly and mysterious, in all the best ways. and there's no way in hell i'd fit into my leather pants anymore, but they're still around somewhere.
