since i was nominated to lead this one i will accept. we are going to need a lot of people here.

6 basses
3 flutes/one doubling as piccolo
3 oboes/one doubling as english horn
2 bassoons
3 clarinets/one doubling as bass clarinet
3 trumpets
5 french horns
3 trombones/one on bass trombone
1 tuba
3 percussionists
not all woodwind and percussionists will be needed for every piece. string players must be willing to make a pretty strong commitment. if we can't find enough woodwinds to do the good stuff like brahms and beethoven maybe we'll scale down to a blatherchamberorchestra. i don't know. we'll see.

for a blatherchamberorchestra we need
6 1st violins
6 2nd violins
2 or 3 violas
2 or 3 cellos
and
1 bass
maybe with a few french horns and oboes occasionally so we can do mozart symphonies. i personally like the sound of a string orchestra ;) if you need some help with your duties, i could help you.

uuuhhh...i might keep the clarinet in the back of my mind daffy just in case we get enough strings around and then we can think about expanding our instrumentation. i don't think that we have music for mouth harps and washboards at the moment. i'll look around for some. and it's not a blatherorchestra of any kind if there are only two violins one viola and one cello. that would constitute a blatherstringquartet and there are all kinds of music in the literature for that. so do we have a viola and a cello out there? i accept amiee's nomination. i like leadership positions.
