that "He [the pope] told us that it was all right to study the evolution of the universe after the big bang, but we should not inquire into the big bang tself because that was the moment of Creation and therefore the work of God. I was glad then that he did not know the subject of the talk I had just given at the conference - the possibility

space_time was finite but had no boundary, which means that it had no beginning, no moment of Creation...."

They call me Truth where does the material that cause the big bang come from? You can't make an explosion out of nothing. What created the particles that caused the explosion? 081228
...
sameolme The "explosion" into being happened(s),
there were no "particles" before "being"
ripened conditions. These so called particles are simply very tightly wound
energy fields which Einstein discribed
with E=mc squared.
081228
...
They call me Truth The same question exists...Tightly wound energy fields had to come from somewhere...Where did it come from? How did it come to exist. You can't talk about the beginning without looking about what caused it. To just simply say that there was just tightly wound energy fields is the same as saying "in the beginning there was God." 081229
...
They call me Truth Are you saying that something came from nothing? 081229
...
sameolme No, I agree that our existence is mysterious. There can be an explosion of flowers and a blossoming big bang. 081229
...
Lemon_Soda No,no, no...even if there was nothing the possiblity of SOMETHING is still there. And like all possibilities, whatever could be has an energy to it. That energy was fueled by what ELSE could be possible(because ONE possibility always leads to another, a perprtual motion of ideas and concepts) until there was so much nothing that COULD be that it exploded into SOMETHING. Which is the big bang. 081230
...
They call me Truth you are contemplating nothing from the perspective of something...and I disagree...nothing by definition is nothing...there is no possibility in nothing because that would be something...and something then is NOT nothing...it is something...And where did the possibility come from. Only consciousness can create a possibility where none exists. So did consciousness exist? After the initial something then it is perfectly rational to believe that randomness can produce something...but not before. What was there to create possibility? 081230
...
Lemon_Soda It takes conciousness to realize a possiblity, not for it to exist. Your coming fromt he angle of being able rationalize. Rational thought is incapable of understanding what I'm talking about. Its irrational by nature, just like existence itself. the problem with logic is it can't explain itself, just like illogic. they require eachother to make any sense. Can you imagine Light without darkness to define it? Unrealized possibilites exist even if noone thinks of them. 081231
...
Lemon_Soda And no, I don't understand it either, which means neither of us is ever going to be satisfied talking about this. 081231
...
sameolme "Truth" means being satisfied with an
answer. There's never reason to be satisfied.

They call me Truth The moment you decide there is nothing else to know then there is no more growth. You have to ponder certain questions and try to make sense of them in order for understanding to occur. Truth fluctuates in our world and it changes with time. They become deeper or more shallow. I agree LS...illogic is needed to understand logic and some things won't make logical sense. But just because it does not make sense now does not mean it won't and that there isn't more to the question to be discovered or revealed. Any achievement that is made is due to someone asking a question that no one else will or has asked or challenging assumptions about our universe. It is quite possible that the illogical simply means "outside of our current awareness" or "a thing that does not follow our current laws of how we believe the universe works."

My initial inquiry into big bang theory was simply to point out that the whole picture is missing. This is not to say that I believe that there is an answer, but the question is intriguing and understanding that there is a question is a humbling but also a mind opening experience.
