zeke i once worked as a night truck loader at a major shipping company. vast, cavernous, concrete and metal surfaces. constant squeal and crash of massive (blocks long) sorting equipment. everybody else had a radio. i worked as close to the geometric center as was possible, running up and down a conveyer belt emptying moving cages and sorting packages into 6 big trucks. i was a shift that started at around midnight and went until dawn when i would rush to college classes.

i began to notice that every moment contained a sort of aural sculpture. the layers of sound would ebb and flow in a way that caused an index of subjectivity to come into stark relief. it was very much like learning to "flip" a necker cube at will. later i began to realize that i had relaxed the part of my awareness that is attuned to discrete filtering and was recieving this index holistically. i was hearing the "ness" of the place without interpretation. it was very beautiful. subjectivity is somtimes objectivity.

oE hmm..in my own ironic and flippant way..i was trying to say that yeah when we are in a state of alpha frequency brain waves and all..that is when we become most susceptable to hieghtened perceptions..and the ability to percieve with our right brain while the left brain takes care of a task that we've done over and over until it becomes almost an autonomic function..like driving home from work and not even realizing it..cause you've been daydreaming..sorting something out in the right hemisphere.. 040113

zeke i thought so. slightly too compressed for me to assume. 040114

oE yep..physics bears that out..wave amplitude and all that..why do you think glass shatters?..well yes partly because of the unique state of matter that glass is composed of..sure but yeah..wave amplitude..vibrations baby.. 040114

7 The basic tenet behind sound therapy is that everything in the universe is in a constant state of vibration. If true, the cells of the human body constantly vibrate, meaning that sound can either relax or agitate, heal or harm. Certain vibrations are capable of breaking up patterns tht inhibit wholeness or health on any leve. 040115
